Silk Eclipse: A High-End Commercial Space Designed by Tsung Ju Wu

Creating a Comfortable and Spacious Shopping Experience

This project, designed by Tsung Ju Wu, stands out with its unique features and strengths. One of the highlights is the customer's participation in material selection. When clients personally select diamonds for the counter decoration, they unexpectedly see all the diamond-cut faces of the crystal, adding a gorgeous appearance to the original black and white counter. This interactive element enhances the shopping experience and creates a sense of exclusivity.

The layout of Silk Eclipse is carefully designed to provide a comfortable and spacious shopping experience. The ceiling design and lighting configuration enlarge the vision, making the space feel open and inviting. The use of materials such as marble, herringbone parquet, oakwood, LED lights, FRP, and 3D paint adds to the overall aesthetic appeal.

Spanning approximately 118 square meters, Silk Eclipse consists of a welcome area, working area, and employee lounge. The design team took into consideration the site's location in a triangle intersection and the proximity to the opposite neighbor. They readjusted the gate position and changed the facade to a diagonal entrance with a ramp. The combination of various materials creates a high-level space atmosphere.

The project was completed in August 2017 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design team focused on reviving the origin of the space and presenting a high-quality feature from the exterior design. The entrance area is adorned with lacquered paint and utilizes hard materials to create a soft fabric-like look. The entrance light design adds a touch of fantasy, transporting visitors to another world upon stepping through the door. The leisure design aesthetics provide customers with a comfortable and spacious shopping experience.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was achieving a balance between the Feng Shui concept and modern design aesthetics, as the client had strong beliefs in Feng Shui. Additionally, the design of the signboard was shaped like a piece of fabric, adding another layer of uniqueness to the space.

Taking the leisure and casual style as the main theme, Silk Eclipse features brush strokes, neat lines, and harmonious color matching. The diamond-shaped entrance and light strip create an image of stepping into another time and space. The design aesthetics of the store incorporate natural elements, providing a relaxing environment for customers.

Silk Eclipse was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design of Silk Eclipse integrates industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
